This fully encloses the tang, which fattens up the grip, making the gun easier to hold. It also covers the rear of the trigger guard, which, although aesthetically pleasing, has pinched my support hand finger more than once. The rubber is grippy, making it easier to hang onto. My only gripe is that these grips are not as pretty as the wood, but if you like to shoot monstrously heavy loads, this is the way to go.
