After being betrayed by your former crew and left to wither away in a vegetative state, you awaken in Saints Row 2 in Stilwater with the singular purpose of reclaiming your territory one brick at a time. It is time to gather a crew and eliminate all rivals who dared to lay claim to your turf. Customize your character in an assortment of ways by altering your appearance and obtaining criminal couture. Weapons range from a number of intense destruction tools, including the mini-gun, a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and a flamethrower, to less traditional armaments, such as the stun gun, a chainsaw, and a medical defibrillator. In this second installment of Saints Row, you will find new modes of transportation, including motorcycles, boats, and aircraft to help you get around Stilwater, the setting of the game. Saints Row 2 for Xbox 360 features insanely fun gameplay. Saints Row 2 takes everything fans found enjoyable from the GTA series and cranks the dial up to 11. Created by THQ, the game had an original release date of 2008. The open-world environment is supplemented by a variety of fun and hilarious missions that get more and more outrageous as the story goes on. While story progression is linear, there are dozens of side quests and activities to participate in on your journey toward the end. The story missions themselves offer a huge range of scenarios and objectives to keep players engaged. From tossing bombs out the back of a flaming truck to playing tag with a number of enemies in a makeshift demolition derby, there's always something new to keep the good times rolling. This game is rated M for Mature due to violent, action-packed content. A long list of features has been added for the second installment in the Saints Row series, including a checkpoint feature that is a huge improvement from the first game. A cruise control system while driving was also implemented, which aids in drive-by shooting tactics that are often used in games of this genre. Sound and graphic design in Saints Row 2 make use of the Xbox 360's advanced capabilities. Eye-popping explosions, emotive character models, and bullets flying in your direction are all rendered beautifully, and they perfectly fit the game's over-the-top aesthetic. Voice acting and sound effects within the game are crisp and clear to help immerse you in the action. This game takes its inspiration from ridiculous yet exciting action movies of the '80s and '90s. Every activity, cutscene, and storyline is meant to fall on a scale ranging from simply ludicrous to clearly insane, and the Saints Row series revels in this design choice. Whether you're launching a boat off a ramp into an exploding car while raining a hail of bullets down on your enemies or firing off an RPG into oncoming traffic while a number of motorcycle-riding enemies do back flips as they chase you down, every action is pumped up. Saints Row 2 flaunts tongue-and-cheek excitement with fantastic style and execution, and it's sure to give you many hours of unique gameplay.
