The first expansion to Microsoft Flight Simulator X includes 20 action-oriented missions, six scenery maps, and three new aircraft to pilot: an F/A-18A Hornet, EH-101 helicopter, and a P-51D Mustang. Also new is an online multiplayer mode with a choice of four race types: aerobatics, Reno Air Races, cross-country, and sailplane. Harsh weather or pylon races can be selected in each event for a custom challenge. Single-player missions range from a search-and-rescue operation on an ocean liner to finding your way through a blizzard. Flight Simulator X: Acceleration is also optimized to support the enhanced visual effects found in DirectX 10.
