The condition was clearly new, but I was a bit disappointed to find some moisture remaining inside the piston, as if it had been rinsed before shipping. Since both the shipping origin (Japan) and my location are experiencing very hot weather, moisture left inside the pen could lead to mold. That part was a bit concerning and took away from an otherwise positive experience. That said, the packaging itself was excellent.
