Upon appearance it has the look of an edge control but once applied to the hair it does not feel like an edge control. It's not sticky, greasy, or oily, and there's no overpowering artificial smell. Plus the ingredients are awesome. It barely feels like it's on my hair but it lays my hair down in the ways I need it to. There's no flaking or itchy scalp after application and it's easy to wash out of the hair. A++ in my book!!!
