Rio for PlayStation 3 is a collection of various party games based on the 20th Century Fox computer-animated film. Players can take part in more than 40 rhythm-based and action-oriented challenges, inspired by the story of the pet-shop parrot who looks for love as he learns to fly through the Amazon jungles. The mini-games can be custom-arranged in several different ways, through seven modes of play. Solo gamers can play through the story or try to beat their best scores, and a "drop-in" function allows up to three more players to join the action at nearly any time. The mini-games take place in the rainforest, on the beach, in the streets of Rio, and at other background locations from the film. Players can compete in the games as their choice of eight characters, including Pedro, Nico, Jewel, and Blu himself.
