Improving upon the Madness Engine used in other games, this game simulates realistic varied weather and track conditions to near perfection, offering a number of challenges to conquer on more than 110 courses as well as 74 vehicles to master.Rated E for everyone, “Project CARS” (Community Assisted Racing Simulator) sets itself apart by using a sandbox approach. This means that players are able to choose their own racing paths to try to reach the finish line first. This also means every track is accessible from the start, and pure skill can make a slower car win big. Being a realistic simulator game, the player has to check various things throughout the race to ensure they finish. Complete races also occur over multiple events, beginning with a shakedown and progressing to the final race during which time the weather changes, giving drivers a unique experience even on the same course. The power of the Xbox One console allows the game to really offer a true-to-life car race experience.To allow players of all different skill levels to enjoy the game, Slightly Mad Studios included various driving assistance controls. The player uses an advanced driving wheel or a standard Xbox controller and still receives a great simulation experience. Input filtering compensates for sensitive controls and getting used to the way the cars handle in the game when a player is starting out. This offers a consistently enjoyable gaming experience for novices as well as seasoned veteran sim drivers. In “Project CARS,” you create your driver and your vehicles of choice from touring models to karts. You may also upgrade with additional accessories and performance parts. Customize your project vehicles with decals and paint jobs in your search for glory in the winner's circle of professional spec tournament brackets. Add a personal branding across your vehicles to create the appearance of a uniform team destined for championship level success. Become the team that the community fears and reveres during online play with achievements and stats displayed on Xbox Live. Take on different challenges as weather and lighting conditions dynamically change for a dramatically different experience of the same track.Slightly Mad Studios went into developing “Project CARS” with the idea of using feedback and community participation from the start. Players not only helped with ideas but could also contribute actual content, quality assurance, and marketing to the efforts. While the budget was modest, the participation of dedicated community members resulted in an amazing experience without traditional publisher assistance. While this may have added challenges, it also freed the developers from outside interference to bring their vision to life. They were able to get feedback and input from actual professional drivers to ensure the simulations were accurate and true.
