Solid brass construction on the head piece. Base is heavy and sturdy, but probably best to clamp to table for extra stability when tying big flies. Great tool set included, look and feel like good quality. The wooden box to keep it all in is a nice touch and much better than a soft bag IMO. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase
