    The USB socket item works with a 6 Volt power supply from my battery, I'm guessing it would be perfectly fine with 12 Volt supply also. Upon unplugging a USB plug the inside circuit comes out of the black plastic/rubber mold, I am not bothered. A bit of glue or something would work fine. Thanks.
