Based on cost I'm suspicious as to whether it is in fact silver, though I haven't had a chance to wear enough to see if it turns. It is a beautiful piece and I look forward to getting multiple wears out of it. The appearance is that it's brand new, though I did have to fix a single loop with pliers as it wasn't soldered and was slightly sticking out which I worried would catch on clothing. It is beautiful and a great value.
