I LOVE THIS SHOP! My mother worked as barmaid here in 1950’s…we lived in a shabby old house behind “ THE ACE” as it was fondly called back then. The memories I have of this place are precious. Many WW2 Veterans sang, celebrated, rejoiced and cried in their cups here. It became a hallowed shrine in many ways. I was only a child but I remember with deep respect. I hadn’t any keepsakes of The Ace til I found this shop. This matchbook means more to me than The Hope Diamond. It’s The Holy Grail to me
