Item was poorly packaged, but arrived intact nevertheless. I do not know who was responsible, but the item disappeared into a "black hole" moving through USPS. It was so late that I asked the seller for a refund and he agreed. About a week after receiving the refund, the item arrived. I then had to figure out how to pay back the refund, but the seller provided instructions that seemed to work.
