From owning another Alain Mikli frame, also handmade in Italy, I know they wear well; I had repeat prescriptions in my old pair. Spring hinges are an added feature which mean the frame has more give and also durability. I paid a small amount of cross-border duty, but given the quality, the fact that I don't see anything like them today, and the price of other frames, they are excellent value for the money.
