The Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 is a 100 GB hard drive that offers full compatibility with PC desktops, notebooks, and tablets. Part of Hitachi's second generation of 2.5-inch hard disk drives, the Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 spins at rates of 7200 RPM and uses a Serial ATA interface. The internal hard drive has an external data transfer rate of 150 MBps which is combined with a seek time of 10 ms for rapid location and retrieval of data. An 8 MB cache size between the Hitachi hard drive and other computer devices also allows for smooth data transfer. Physically, the internal hard drive measures only 0.37 x 2.76 x 3.94-inch and weighs a mere 0.22 lb, making it an ideal device for laptop use. Equipped with Fluid Dynamic Bearing Motors, the Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 produces sound emission of 30 dB for a whisper-quiet operation. In addition to standard PC systems and notebooks, the Hitachi hard drive performs well in gaming devices.
