Originally released in Japan, the role-playing game (RPG) Dark Chronicle 2 for Sony Playstation 2 was released in North America under the name “Dark Cloud 2.” Set in Palm Brinks, which is the only surviving settlement on the planet, Dark Cloud for Playstation 2 features the hero Max, who has something the evil clown Flotsam wants. As the player moves through the multi-layered Dark Chronicle for Sony Playstation 2, he or she can create, customize, and upgrade weapons in Dark Cloud for Playstation 2, create new inventions, make tools from scratch, take pictures, collect items, and play the many mini-games within Dark Chronicle for Sony Playstation 2. Fighting enemies in Dark Cloud 2 takes place in real time (versus turn-based fighting), and the player can use the intuitive game controls to do this. Dark Chronicle for Sony Playstation 2 also contains a comprehensive inventory management system.
