Synopsis
Nunavut is a land of islands, encompassing some of the most remote places on Earth. It is also home to some of the world's most fascinating bird species. The windswept tundra, rocky shorelines, and icy waters of this thinly populated land are integral to the survival of numerous breeding and non-breeding birds, including the colourful King Eider, the stately Snowy Owl, the spritely Snow Bunting, and the globe-spanning Northern Wheatear. Birds of Nunavut is the first complete survey of every species known to occur in the territory. It is co-written by a team of eighteen experts who have conducted a combined total of 300 seasons of fieldwork in Nunavut. They document 295 species of birds (of which 145 are known to breed in the territory), presenting a wealth of information on identification, distribution, ecology, behaviour, and conservation. Lavishly illustrated with over 800 colour photographs and 155 maps, it is a visually stunning reference work on the birds that live in and visit Nunavut., The first complete survey of the birds of Nunavut, this fully illustrated reference work identifies and documents the distribution, ecology, behaviour, and conservation of the species that live in and migrate through the territory., Nunavut is a land of islands, encompassing some of the most remote places on Earth. - a***n (3)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseFast communication, fast shipping. Great value for acceptable condition (no written or highlighted), minimal damage to the cover. Plastic packaging got tears exposing a couple of corners, although it is in acceptable condition already, so no problem. If item was sold in better condition, packaging can be better.
