I notified the seller and to correct the problem I used hot water to soften the material and straighten it back to its original position. The globe pins holes needed to be adjusted for the globe to fit, but was corrected easily. No harm done to any of the items needing correction. Knowing what I had to do with the item would not stop me from buying it again.
