I never got the clue for purple and green (some motherboards do even have had black ports.. ) as you can universal switch mouse an keyboard on both colors. But maybe the very first motherboards with ps2 had it separated and they kept colors even when it hasn't a function anymore. Could have bought a handful green but i love purple.
