Building on the strengths of the MicroLogix 1100 product series of small controllers, this industrial control system offers enhanced features including pulse train output, a higher input/output (I/O) configuration, a faster high-speed counter, and a wider range of communication options. Key attributes found in the MicroLogix 1100 series are also available in this unit, including Ethernet/Internet protocol (IP) functionality, online editing, and a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel. With the integrated LCD that now comes with a backlight, configuring your Ethernet network is made easier, along with changing file addresses, extending the LCD data wiring to support a whole file, customizing original equipment manufacturer logos, and showing floating point values on user-configurable display. Additionally, the embedded LCD also enables you to manipulate and keep track of binary and integer elements, monitor and view controller conditions, and provide an intuitive graphical user interface for a messaging system. Manufactured by one of the leading providers of industrial automation power and information solutions, Rockwell Automation developed the Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1400 series for consumers who require high-performing, reliable, and scalable networking options to accommodate tough industrial activities. This product series, which also includes the 1766-L32BXB, 1766-L32BXBA, and 1766-L32BWAA models, is ideal for demanding control applications such as material handling, general industry machinery, food and beverage, printing, packaging, pharmaceutical, clutch and brake control, water wastewater, and position control applications. The 1766-L32BWA PLC provides great flexibility with its range of I/O configurations. It includes 12 digital fast 24V direct current (DC) inputs, eight digital normal 24V DC inputs, and 12 relay outputs. These relay outputs can be used with both DC and alternating current (AC) loads. This device also comes with a 120/240V AC supply. Offering up to six channels at 100 kilohertz with its high-speed input counters, the 1766-L32BWA PLC enables you to expand your application services by integrating up to seven 1762 MicroLogix expansion modules with 256 embedded discrete I/O combinations. When it comes to transmission capabilities, the Allen-Bradley 1766-L32BWA PLC has integrated protocol support for a variety of advanced communication types through its two built-in serial ports: an RS232C/RS485 combination port and a non-isolated RS232 port. This unit enables support for DF1 full-duplex, half-duplex master/slave, and radio modem communications. The latter not only lets you transmit data in an efficient manner, but it also helps in reducing your power consumption by requiring only one TX from the initiator and responder for each type of read and write process. Other forms of communications supported by the 1766-BWA PLC include Modbus remote terminal unit master/slave and American standard code for information interchange transmissions. The embedded RJ-45 10/100 Ethernet port provides a series of benefits for your control system. It offers data transmission speeds of up to 100 megabits per second of Ethernet/IP peer-to-peer messaging. Plus, you also get additional web server capability, email service, and DNP3 protocol support. Combined with a non-volatile battery back random access memory, this unit is powered by the RSLogix 500 programming software. This operating system is flash upgradeable so there is no need to completely replace your existing hardware if you want to update the software.
