The StorageWorks 60 Modular Smart Array—made and produced by the technology giant HP—is a disk drive storage system or enclosure that has a 3 Gb per second SAS host connectivity. This enclosure system offers high storage density, industry-leading availability, and upgradeability, which helps the consumers in expanding or customizing the MSA60 to fit their needs. The HP StorageWorks 60 Modular Smart Array or HP MSA60 offers a good deal for your money’s worth since it is already high capacity but still very budget friendly. It works great for minimum I/O workloads, such as archival, reference data, and disk-to-disk backup. Other features of the HP StorageWorks 60 Modular Smart Array MSA60 are its 2U rack mount type form factor with an SAS host interface and its capability to support twelve 3.5-inch hot pluggable drives. It is also capable of supporting 300GB, 146GB,72GB, and 36GB 3.5-inch 3 GB per seconds SAS drives. For 1.5 GB per second SATA drives, the HP StorageWorks 60 Modular Smart Array can support 750 GB, 500 GB, and 250 GB. The HP StorageWorks 60 Modular Smart Array has a modular design, and it also has 1 plus 3 Cascade support. It provides a storage capacity of as much as 9 TB in each enclosure. Redundant power supplies and fans come standard with the HP StorageWorks 60 Modular Smart Array base enclosure, which adds to a higher level of data protection together with the various RAID level, including the RAID 6. Every MSA60 comes with a dual power supply, which is enough to provide the power needed by the whole enclosure as well as to sustain the system’s normal operating levels. The HP StorageWorks 60 Modular Smart Array also has Integrated Environmental Monitoring, which helps monitor the environmental conditions inside the enclosure as well as the conditions of each component, such as the fans, temperature, and power supply.
