Handle is mediumish plastic and after 3 days of light duty cutting thin plastic tote straps the "lock"/release on the blade came out of alignment and let the blade close half way as I was using it. I've bent the thin inner metal bar to 'fix' it but we'll see. Otherwise it's a cool knife with nice action.
