This is a great way to show off the expensive valvetrain components on your performance engine. The aluminum spacer is also thick enough to drill and tap a hole for a 3/8 NPT nipple fitting for a crankcase vent from the engine block/timing cover to the cylinder head which provides extra lubrication for the valve train and crankcase pressure relief. A really nice setup.
