It feels cheaply made, I am used to the manufacturers products which is why I notice the difference. However, it does what it is supposed to although it does put an extra drain on the battery because the IR is constantly active when the unit is “ON” to enable the vertical shutter release. It would be better without the IR feature at all. But it does give a good grip and control of the camera when the unit is mounted.
