THE BATTALION WAS THE FIRST AIR DEFENSE ARTILLERY UNIT AT THE CAPTURE OF THE RHINE RIVER BRIDGE AT REMAGEN. BY THE TIME IT WAS OVER THE UNIT HAD EARNED A PRESIDENTIAL UNIT CITATION FOR GALLANTRY AND HEROISM.
