Many of the aircraft covered are provided with a fairly decent historical background that, for some, includes how they were restored to flying condition., If you need an aircraft for an interwar game or RPG, here's a good source to consult and then look for an actual model., Besides assembling numerous attractive photos, Chapman has included sufficient historical context in the narrative.

As soon as the armistice was declared, a rapid disarmament began. After a period of austerity, the surplus military aircraft formed the basis for civil aviation as we know it today.
