I have it plugged into an isolation transformer that measures amperage and the output is within the 8a rating. It powers both my Douk T8 Pro Preamp and my Netgear S300 Router (2a and 3.5a respectively). The vents at the top help it not get too hot and the amber light is much easier on the eyes then a blinding blue. I have it running constantly for the router.
