In Killzone for Sony PlayStation 2, you fight off invading forces from an alien planet to regain control of your own futuristic world. This classic game features stunning graphics, an intriguing plot, and action-packed gameplay. Guerrilla Games and Sony Computer Entertainment originally released Killzone for Sony PlayStation 2 in 2004. Its release date was November 2, 2004 in North America and it is compatible with North American PlayStation consoles. Like other PlayStation 2 games, it comes in a game DVD format. In 2012, the game got a reboot for PS3. As PlayStation consoles are not backwards compatible, the PS2 version is not compatible with PS3 and the PS3 version is not compatible with PS4. However, sequels in the series are available for other platforms such as PS4, PSP, and PS Vita. This version is designed to run on PlayStation 2 video games consoles. It has an “M” for Mature rating and is recommended for players over 17 due to strong language, graphic violence, and blood. This Killzone PS2 game was Sony’s futuristic answer to the popular Call of Duty series games. In this thrilling FPS, you follow Captain Jan Templar, the leader of a International Strategic Alliance (ISA) squad that defends the galactic colony he calls home. When a planet called Helghast rebels and starts invading its neighbor, Vekta, Templar must defend the peaceful planet against the invading forces. He is also tasked at retrieving Colonel Gregor Hakha, a key intelligence officer that has gone missing while infiltrating the enemy forces from Helghast. The people of Helghast have mutated due to the planet’s environment, which gives them superhuman strength. Templar must complete his mission before it is too late. You can play Killzone for PS2 in single-player and multiplayer modes. Multiplayer mode lets you play with up to two campaign players and can accommodate up to 12 online players. You can use both ISA and enemy Helghast weapons to defeat the Helghast army. ISA weapons include grenades, shotguns, combat knives, missile weapons, assault rifles, and heavy weapons. Helghast weapons include laser weapons, light machine guns, and sniper rifles. Although a number of vehicles appear in the game, playable characters travel by foot, so you cannot control vehicles. The Killzone for PS2 game features 11 challenging levels. Choose from four playable characters, including Captain Jack Templar and his three squad mates. Each time you complete a mission in the game, you move up to the next level. The terrain moves you from jungles to mountains as you battle for control of Vekta. Both the terrain and enemies become more challenging with each progressive level. You can find the PS2 version of Killzone at a variety of budget levels. If you are a games collector, you can also find sealed copies to add to your library. Before you commit to a purchase, make sure the game is compatible with your console, as there is a re-release version available for PS3.
