Learn Chinese'Illustrated Chinese-English Dictionary is a bilingual dictionary based on the unabridged edition of Chinese Picture Dictionary for Beginners first compiled and published in 1998 by the People's Education Press. It is designed to be used as a reference book for non-native learners of basic Chinese. The dictionary contains a collection of 1,965 Chinese characters, with another 694 corresponding Traditional Chinese characters, encompassing all 800 Level A characters and 804 Level B characters in the National Syllabus of Graded Words and Characters for Chinese Proficiency. Learn Chinese'Illustrated Chinese-English Dictionary aims to strengthen learners' command of Chinese by improving their character recognition, pronunciation and understanding of word meanings. All entries contain the radical, pronunciation, basic stroke order, followed by definitions and examples with accompanying Chinese phonetic notations (pinyin) and English translations. The dictionary also offers 591 attractive illustrations placed alongside the definitions and examples, with another 13 pages of topical illustrated vocabulary.
