      Dear Mats. Thank You for your pozitive feedback. The age of these knives is hard to determine depending on preservation. A local traditional of preservation in the humid climate of the DRC Rainforest consists either of burying or keeping it in the kitchen smoke, which is the case in yours, thus the iron does not rust and preserve very well. As an indicator of the age i 'd look at the handle wrapping. As a rule of thumb these knives were no longer produced after 1960. So it may be a century old.
