The adjustment dial on the side of the scale was missing its cap that turns the gear, but I used needle-nose pliers to turn it back to zero lbs. I assume that is why the price was much cheaper (which I appreciated) than others of the same model. Thank you Granny. Scale only goes to 270 not 300 as listed but that's ok, I forgive you;)
