Cannot say enough good things about these boots! I float between a US 8.5 to a 9, and the 39 fits perfectly. - No breaking in necessary!
I do suggest immediately treating with a good leather protector, especially if you plan to wear these out in the elements. (Saphir makes a great spray on, or Otter Oil plus their Boot Wax and neither will effect the color. I opted for the latter as leather in TX gets beaten up in our heat.)
