I actually like them on cast iron and hardened steel in addition to aluminum. On steel they will allow you to make really shallow cuts and just take a whisker off, which you can't do with most inserts. You can't beat them for the price. Expect delivery to be a bit slow (3-4 weeks) but that's to be expected with something being imported.

You can't beat them for this price. I'm switching all of my boring bars over to this kind in various sizes.
