Yes it's new and very nice and is a real Heliopan filter. But I would have liked to have known that it is 40 year old NOS ( the case actually says made in WEST Germany - not a bad thing at all but it does date it.) and Shott glass has not changed BUT coatings have. I'm still Very happy with the filter and it will be just fine for my black and white work.Do not let the age stop you from getting a filter from them, Ya it's 40 year old NOS but it's still better than a lot of new filters out there

I secure the filter/s to the glass lenses of small 120 V. LED outdoor spot lighting bulbs of the same circumference. These filters do a FANTASTIC job limiting the overflow of light into the image sensors of the 'night vision' function of my LOREX surveillance cameras, vastly reducing the blooming or halo effect that can blind cameras.
