It didn't work for me. It didn't seal correctly, so when the water was being pumped out of the washing machine, it would spill over and onto the floor. I ended up buying a one way PVC valve that I adapted to the top of this. I guess this DID help by giving me something to attach everything else to (1 way valve, new hose, a hose to attached the valve, etc).
