Junior pilots help Jay Jay fly his first solo mission in Jay Jay the Jet Plane: Jay Jay Earns His Wings, a PC game based on the PBS Kids television series. All of the familiar characters, including Jay Jay, Tracy, Jake, and Herky, make appearances in this game, which lets children discover nature, numbers, and basic math through the same gentle manner as the show. Even Brenda Blue presents some of her regular "Think About It" commentary, on gravity and change. <br><br>Designed for children aged three to seven, players help Jay Jay, who is ready for his own delivery route, pick up six packages and return with them to Tarrytown Airport. Children earn Jay Jay's packages through educational activities in six different locations: E.Z. O'Malley's Ranch, Smiling Meadow, Ridgeway, Lightening Bug Lake, Frosty Pines, and Sandy Landing. Measuring, sorting, pattern identification, numbers, and math equations are all available activities. Choose to identify animals based on descriptions at E.Z. O'Malley's Ranch or identify numbers and solve math problems on the slopes of Frosty Pines. A difficulty setting from one to three can be chosen for each activity individually. <br><br>Upon collecting the packages from each of the six locations, Jay Jay returns with players to the Tarrytown Airport, where he discovers the packages contain coloring pages children can either color onscreen or print and color with crayons. Files can also be saved and played again at any time, increasing the difficulty as progress and understanding are achieved.
