The debut GBA title from CinéGroupe Interactive, Dora the Explorer: The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure features characters from the animated Nick Jr. television series. Players control both Dora and her friend Boots through a friendly interface that provides visual clues, such as the appearance on screen of Backpack when the situation calls for a specific item. As the two adventurers search for the friendly pirate's lost treasure, they must find three hidden stars to open the gate at the end of each level, and can earn a special victory dance from Dora by collecting every coin, as well.<br><br>Dora's friends include the Fiesta Trio, who celebrate the end of each level with a party; the Spanish speaking Tico, who helps count the stars; and the Pirate Pig. Turtles and crocodiles provide help in crossing ponds or rivers, while dangerous snakes, bats, and crabs present obstacles. As Dora searches levels for helpful items, she must occasionally scare off Swiper the Fox, who will try and steal them. Backpack items include the versatile Super Blue Bouncy Bouncy Ball, keys to unlock chests and open up areas, a watering can to grow bouncy flowers as trampolines, a flashlight, and an umbrella.<br><br>Dora the Explorer: The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure features a password save system, with passwords consisting of simple objects like hearts, arrows, stars, and other symbols. An easily accessible map screen, which can be accessed at any time during gameplay, helps Dora stay oriented in the more than half dozen featured locales like the Spooky Forest and Blueberry Hill.
