It's a year after the mysterious destruction of the Russian top-secret "spy" training city Gorky 17 where rumors persist of mutated creatures, terrified townspeople and teleportation experiments under General Kazov. Now a second city with disturbingly similar properties has been uncovered by NATO and Group One, a team of scientists and soldiers, was dispatched to look for hidden laboratories. They disappeared without a trace.<br><br>You, as Cole Sullivan, must infiltrate the city with your comrades Jarek Ovitz and Thiery Trantigne and search for the source of these hideous mutations, bizarre creatures and locate the first team. Are the rumors about possible restoration to pre-experimental status to be believed? Do mutants consisting of human, animal and mechanical parts really exist here? Is it too late to save humanity from the onslaught of experimentation gone bad? <br><br>Gameplay is from an isometric, third-person viewpoint and the game is basically divided into two specific modes: adventuring and combat. Combat is turn-based and is initiated each time your character enters an enemy infested site. Character skills and abilities increase with experience and statistics and attributes are tracked throughout the adventure. A working inventory, weapons, ammunition, healing items, armor and various items found during exploration combine to assist you in your quest.<br><br>Can you lead Cole and his comrades in their quest to uncover unsavory secrets, reverse terrible experiments and expose the conspiracies hidden by the Russian government?
