About this product
Product Information
You can go on a fantastic action adventure with Mega Man for Sega Game Gear portable console. This game was developed by freestyle and published only in North America by U.S. Gold in 1995. Although it is not a direct sequel of the games by the same name, it is based on Mega Man 4 and Mega Man 5 (published by Capcom) which were previously released on the 8 bit Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This version of Mega Man is only available on the Sega Game Gear console and is the only version released on this system. Mega Man is an android robot known as Rockman, or Rock. The Mega Man series revolves around Rock battling evil scientists who are trying to take over the Earth. In this version of the game, Mega Man battles a variety of new enemies. As you travel through levels in order to reach and defeat the final boss and save the world, you first must fight off the Robot Masters, who were created by the evil Dr. Cossack in previous Mega Man games. The Robot Masters include Bright Man with his bright weapon, Napalm Man with a bomb weapon, Star Man with a crash weapon and Stone Man with his stone weapon. Each enemy not only has their own set of battle techniques and weapons, but they also have a specific weakness. Once you figure out their specific weakness, Mega Man destroys them easily and moves forward in the game. Once a boss is defeated at the end of each level, move on to the next stage. After successfully completing each level and associated smaller boss, you reach Dr. Cossack’s fortress for the final stage of the game where the ultimate boss, Dr. Albert W. Wiley. Before getting to him in order to defeat the game, you must first make it past two more bosses. These enemies are Wave Man, who yields a Wave Weapon, and Toad Man with a Rain Weapon. After you defeat these last two enemies, you come face to face with Dr. Wily himself. Dr. Wily rides in his Wily Capsule II, which he began using after his Wily Machine was destroyed in the original Mega Man games. The Wily Capsule II flies around above Mega Man shooting energy balls in order to try to destroy Mega Man. After the initial blasts of energy balls, the Wily Capsule will periodically drop more energy balls that spread when they hit the ground, so the player must be quick to dodge these obstacles while also fighting to destroy the evil doctor. Unlike other Mega Man games, Rockman does not have any combat support robots to defeat this boss quickly. However, this can make the adventure that much more fun as you battle against Dr. Wily and beat the game. Mega Man for Sega Game Gear can be full of action and excitement. For those who like an even bigger challenge, there is also a hard difficulty mode that can be used. This mode limits the number of available lives and makes enemies even more difficult to defeat. With Mega Man for Sega Game Gear, you can never get bored of the action you have come to know and love from freestyle games.
