The item already was brand new and in his original package, with lots of polystyrene to protect it. But the seller went a step further and placed the item (which comes in a Leonx gift box) into slightly larger box with the bottom padded, protective heavy cardboard back, front and top, and polystyrene padding left and right; with several "Fragile" labels on all sides of the box. Excellent job of packing.
