The dog water bowl works well for preventing water splashing out. The dogs figured out how to use it easily. The only thing I don't like about it is that the top floating part is manufactured as two halves and they don't seal so, over time, it fills with some water. I've managed to pry it apart and drain the water out so I guess no harm done but it seems like it'd better (for function and hygiene) if it were sealed or moulded as a single piece.
