    works well as an OEM replacement--it stopped my chair from sinking slowly as I would sit in it. The gas spring is a little more "bouncy" than I would expect from a brand new Steelcase chair (there's about a 1/2" of vertical travel after first sitting down, but then it remains solid). You will have to adjust the height lever set screw, just follow the included instructions. I can still keep using my 23 year old chair! It's great to still be able to buy replacement parts.
