    I briefly flicked through the instructions but became impatient and began pressing the only control button like a madman. Just go through the cycles until you get used to them. Lots of combinations to choose from and the 'shake' feature seems to respond in each mode. This is good fun. Not the most attractive of lamps but no eyesore either. It packs a punch while providing various subtle mood/effects modes to suit your taste. Oh and it's quite small, about 4" tall. Just saying.
