    I had one problem with the filter on my 30+ year old model 4685 Eureka Whirlwind that I think other people have had. If you can't get the new filter turned enough to hear it click so it stays in place the problem is the black round foam seal on the top of the filter. I pulled the seal out and when I put the filter back in it clicked right into place and stayed in place. I checked the mating surfaces after removing the seal and they were completely flat. Vacuum works great now!
