About this product
Product Information
If you’re a photographer who’s always wanted to try shooting with film, you’re likely to enjoy the Canon Pellix SLR camera. When it was released in 1965, the Canon Pellix was one of the most sophisticated pieces of photographic equipment on the market. The Pellix uses standard 35mm film. Every time you take a picture, the film advances automatically, and for your convenience, there’s a photo counter. These Canon cameras shoot at shutter speeds between 10 and 800 using the linear scale developed by the American Standards Association (ASA). This Canon body was designed to work exclusively with Tessar lenses. Tessar lenses are composed of four elements in three groups. These elements were specially engineered to heighten image resolution. With a lens that functions more efficiently, a camera body is no longer needed to contain a lot of bulky components. The optical properties of the lens itself will instead help to make great images. As a result, this Canon Pellix has a lighter body than many other cameras manufactured during that period. These cameras are not only great pieces of photo equipment, they're also highly collectible. The Pellix was the first mass-produced camera to use the fixed Pellicle mirror. The Pellicle mirror has also been used in other high-performing Canon cameras like the EOS. The Pellicle mirror is treated with a very thin coating of Mylar, which reduces the amount of illumination hitting the film. Some of the light hitting this mirror is deflected into the viewfinder. This technology means that photographers no longer have to wait for the internal mirror to reposition itself before advancing the film to the next shot. The absence of mirror bounce also means that small movements of a photographer’s hands are far less noticeable in the finished photo product. The Canon Pellix 35mm SLR helped to blaze the way for the development of fast-motion photography. With a Canon Pellix 35mm SLR, photographers shoot at high speeds through a smaller aperture using larger F-stop settings. This Canon's innovative mirror also allows for the use of through-the-lens (TTL) metering. TTL metering helps photographers capture clear and sharp images of moving subjects, particularly when there are multiple illumination sources. This Canon camera’s meter is actually part of a system controlled by the self-timer lever. When you push the lever toward the lens, the meter is activated. When you push the lever in the opposite direction, the self-timer resets. The meter is powered by a 1.35-volt mercury battery, and the battery compartment is located on the left side of the camera. This Canon camera also incorporates many other features that help you take better photographs. The Pellix viewfinder has a blind that helps prevent light from reaching your film when illumination is less than optimal. This metal blind also prevents your viewfinder from being damaged by the sun’s intense rays. The Pellix shutter also has a locking device that helps prevent you from pressing the photo button when you aren’t trying to take a photo.

I payed a bit extra for DHL express, but the packaging itself, done by the seller, and the attention he payed to protect the camera and accesories was excellent. Everything was as described and shown. For a whole camera with lenses, the price was also excellent. Will deffinitely buy from Sakura Do again!
