It felt like an old army poncho and even made a crackling noise when I moved. I tried washing it in hot water and using a pumice stone on it. Neither made much difference. I will try sandpaper like you use on denim that is too dark in hopes of softening it. The T-shirt itself is of medium quality and fits well.
