Very smooth on front and back and head stock. This was a new guitar in original fender box and well padded. Very beautiful workmanship. Excellent value for a great guitar. My second made in Japan guitar and always excellent quality. It was shipped fast to US, but held in customs in USA for to long of a time. Especially for a instrument of this type. No damage.

I was a bit skeptic about buying a guitar from Japan to the U.K. but I had no need to worry. It arrived perfectly. The only thing to mention of course is the high customs tax our government as set for receiving goods from Japan into the U.K. You have to be prepared for this and it is not Japans fault. This is set up by the U.K. government. For me it was worth it because of the excellent price of the guitar.
