"Everybody Wants to Rule the World," "Head over Heels" and "Shout" were all over the airwaves and the charts, and Tears for Fears were a synth-pop cult band in the U.S. no more-they were "top of the pops" in the States. Tears for Fears' second album (1985) was not just their personal breakthrough; it remains on the short list of the greatest pop albums of the '80s. The aforementioned songs plus "Mothers Talk," "The Working Hour," "I Believe" and the rest of the original release return here in remastered form on a single CD or vinyl. The deluxe edition adds the B-sides "The Big Chair," "Empire Building," "The Marauders," "Sea Song" and "Conflict" plus limited-edition cassette versions and other bonus tracks plus a whole disc of 7" edited versions and other alternates plus an interview with Roland and Curt. Super deluxe edition has all that plus extended versions of "The Way You Are," "Mothers Talk," "Shout" and "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" alternate U.S. remixes and dub versions, and a CD of unreleased songs, promos, demos and live BBC performances. The super deluxe DVDs includes a 5.1 surround mix of the album plus music videos, "Top of the Pops" performances and the "Scenes from the Big Chair" documentary! Mercury.
