The concept seemed cool, so I bought it. I haven't paired it to my phone or private network. I use the remote that it came with, and its really nice. There are a lot of color modes to choose from, so it's just a matter of going with what you like. The remote won't work if you aren't within a 6 to 7ft range of the lamp from my experience. I get better results when I point the remote directly at the adapter in the wall outlet. Five starss!
