I use this appliance indoors daily with my solar supply, but would be excellent out of doors even on a windy day. Simmers on setting 2 or 3, once pan is up to temperature on full power (5), which is about 5 to 6 minutes. Well designed and easy to use and wipe down after use. Recommended and good value.
