Survivors of the environmental holocaust banded together to build a new civilization based on the air-purifying system called Basel and the core that sustains it, called Zenith. Having escaped the fate of extinction, humanity develops another class-based society ruled by a group called the Cardinals. Within this setting, players will be role-playing through three main characters: Zephyr, Leanne, and Vashyron. This trio of paramilitary figures makes a living by taking odd jobs around the Basel metropolis. As time progresses, they begin to uncover an ominous conspiracy in which the Cardinals seek to subvert the control of Zenith and seize power for themselves. It’s up to the player to thwart these nefarious plans and discover the truth behind the history of Zephyr, Leanne, and Vashyron.Players are engaged against each enemy through turn-based battle sequences. The main characters will face myriad enemies, such as errant robots and malicious, hulking creatures. Instead of swords or magic, the mercenaries employ weapons like handguns, machine guns, and grenades to take on their foes. A wide variety of ammunition types and attack sequences are available for upgrades throughout, and the type of weapon used can mean the difference between life and death. Resonance of Fate is a highly strategic PlayStation game that places great emphasis on intelligent tactics; the outcome of a battle depends on the player’s ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Combat in the battle system is unforgiving, and nemeses are relentless. Each attack must be executed in battle against each enemy with precision. One of the most heralded characteristics of Resonance of Fate is its challenging nature.
